What Goes Up, Must Come Down

After giving birth to 2 kids … never having had a propper holiday, we finally decided to take a week off and have ourselves a nice holiday.

The weekend before we were already looking forwards to it a lot ! We packed our stuff, and wooooww, you really do need a lot when you have 2 small children.

BUT … we were smart enough to book a SPECIAL CHILD-BUGALOW ! Meaning extra baby-bed, a babybox to play in, a changingtable, … babybath, toys … small table to play on and … a sandpit for Senna to play in in the garden !
Also, to make it easy, we rented bedsheets, blankets, bathclothes and so on … less packing, right ?

There we went, a 2 to 3 hour drive to the South of Holland. Picked up some grocries nearby the bungalow and went to the parc. We checked in … and drove off to the little house !
All, well … until we opened the door. Let me summ it up for you … let’s see what you say …

- Floor dirty from previous owners
- Spiderwebs everywhere
- Bathtoys smelled
- Toys broken and old
- Toysbox was dirty with HAIR !!!!
- Babybox for Luca to play in was in the shed ( she shed ??? ) and looked sooo dirty
- The extra things we rented were not there
- The babybed had no special babyblankets
- Changingtable ? No, just a pillow we had to flop somewhere

I got soooo angry and almost cried. So, we went to the frontdesk and complained. Than they sent a cleaner-group ( for free — uhhh , what do you mean for FREE ? .. YA really think I would have paid ? ).
I showed them the toybox and the head of cleaning nearly got a fit. They called in at the desk and they brought new toys.
After all this, it was … less worse, but still worse. The bungalow was made at 1970 … well it still looked like it too. All things were old and dirty. YUCK.

Than we decided, after all commotion .. to go and have dinner at the restaurant. Well, that was even worse. Flies at the tables … shitty food and a bill you fall down from.

Pissed as hell we went back to the bungalow to find there a bottle of wine and the mascot of the park in plush for Senna. Ah, well, we thought … let’s give it another try.

Than we made the beds with the stuff we ordered and finally got. The sheets … I tell ya, where covered in spots and had holes in them. Than I had had it …
Sander still wanted to give it all a try. Being married to Mr. Positive … I thought .. Okay. But .. could not catch any sleep knowing how dirty the sheets were.

At 4 a.m. I was done … completely. I told Sander, whom I found awake too, that I was gonna go home with Luca. I mean, I am not gonna spent another day in such a dirty house with a 4,5 months old baby.
Sander than said he was done too, had not slept at all and when he saw Senna ( totally covered with spots of bites of insects … ) he had decided we would all go home.

At 6 a.m. we were packed and had to wait for the parc to open at 9 a.m. to check out. We checked out .. gave back the wine and the plush ( because HELLL that is gonna come with us ). The lady asked when we were suppose to leave … and we told her FRIDAY. We assumed she would ask why we left, but noooop, she smiled and said ‘hope you had a nice stay and have a good trip’. Are you DRILLED than or what ???
So, Sander said ‘aren’t you gonna ask why we are leaving ?’ and she just looked at him .. and he went on ‘because if you ain’t … I am gonna tell you’. So, he did … shuved the wine in her face … the plush and said ‘nice try …’.

So, all left is … a complaint to the manager …
Teusday we were home …

The rest of the holidays ? We had a GREAT time ! We went swimming in the local swimmingpool here, we went to the Zoo, shopped at the city nearby Voorhout … went for a strole at the woods … we had a LOVELY time.

Lovely, here at Playa Voorhout !!!! And the bungalow … is GREAT, just like home. ROFLOL !
